Glimmer Competition - Hidden Depths Review

Between work and Vegas this is a little late but good lord The Glimmers, Unabombers and GM Flash were incredible last Thursday courtesy of Hidden Depths (source: Haydn).

Considering I missed this night and Haydn remembers very little as reviews go we won't be waxing lyrical like our fellow Manchester blogger Kev but clearly it was a special one-off.

Between funk, hip-hop and the White Stripes much fun was had by all as the legend that is Grandmaster Flash delivered the goods to an intimate but sweaty Joshua Brooks. To commemorate the arrival of such luminaries in our rainy town we have the latest Glimmers CD to give away to if you can answer this question (you need this album for track 2 - punk disco rework of Oliva Newton-John's Get Physical. Seriously.)

Which Blondie tune name-checks the Grandmaster himself (hint - see Haydn's previous post title)?

Email us with the answer - winner chosen at random.

Get to the website to register for the London leg of the tour - Chromeo taking over. Once again, I'm not here for that either...

Flash is fast, Flash is cool

Well, I've just had my worst day at work since the day after my Stag do - and it's all because of the brilliant Grandmaster Flash.

The next time Hidden Depths put on a night near you make sure to check it out. Many thanks to the lovely people at DBM Pulse and especially San Miguel.

Hidden Depths in Manchester with The Glimmers- 10th July

The guys over at Hidden Depths are putting on another party in Manchester at the Joshua Brooks (which will be undergoing a bespoke art and design rework for the night).

This time round it's the turn of The Glimmers plus some very special guests. And in this case, I mean seriously special. Bound to secrecy, I can only mention the word 'Pioneer'. And worst of all I can't go because I'm not here on Thursday.

The full line up is announced on the night but it's a chance to get up close and personal with the artists and the guest musicians who have inspired the headliners at some point in their career.

You can't buy tickets as this is invite only but being bloggers of the people here at Ugly Talented we don't adhere to any forms of elitism so register and get signed up to get your hands on tickets.

To the lucky, lucky people of Manchester (and those willing to travel), time is running out - get yourselves sorted now.
